Special Guests: Ken Oster’s wife Beverly, Matt Stevenson (Friend of Rick) Rick’s Granddaughter Hailey, Ed Musterman wife Sue.

Pay the pig (Money goes to the OIF Children Cancer): Carl Scott paid $5.00 for a Big Thanks to Jerry and Evan for all their had work with the Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, and for his Indiana State Basketball team who finish 2 in NIT.
Mike Hachett inducted our new member Bob Slemmons He was given his membership package, his pin and name tag. Welcome Bob Slemmons to our club. He moved to Columbia, MO to be closer to their kids in November. He an optimist member for 17 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado and he worked for 20 years in Illinois.

Boy’s and Girl’s Club Chili Cook off will be on Saturday, April 20th at the Holiday Inn Executive Center (2200 1-70 Dr. SW) Greg Schneider is the chair of. Please let him know if you can help out with handing out the samples of chili in the afternoon.
Jerry Sullivan wanted to thank the follow club members for all their help on Saturday at the 1st Annual Pickle Ball Tournament. There were 40 teams and everyone had a great time playing. A big thanks for Evan Schilling for helping putting the bracket together and keeping up during the tournament, Daryl Stockstill for all his help putting lines down on Friday to helping all day Saturday, Carl Scott for helping taking items over on Friday and with everything else he help with during set up and taking down, Rick McKernan and James Murphy helping with Saturday set up and talking to the players when checking them in, Kelly Schilling for getting the games for the kids to play with in the morning on Saturday, Deb Swanegan for taking pictures, Ed and Sue Musterman for running the concession stand and to his family. We cleaned about $5 hundred for a first time Pickleball tournament. There was a lot of Optimist logo everywhere at the Sports Fieldhouse throughout the day. Next year tournament will be on March 29th.
Rick McKernan talked about the Bill of Right Geo Cashing event that will be hosting this in the month of March. We will be put out the cartons on February 29th in 10 different parks throughout Columbia Parks, they will need to take a selfie of themselves reading the Bill of Right that they find in that park. After they find all the parts of the Bill of Right they will send them into us and we will pick the winner. All of the Geo Cashing are hidden and Rick has got some selfies sent in already.
Mary Dewey has signed up the Downtown Optimist Club with the other clubs in Columbia for Columbia Parks and Recreation Family Fun Fest. The dates are Wednesday, May 15: Bee Kind to Your Mind at COSMO Park, Thursday, June 20th: Junteenth Jamboree at COSMO Park, Wednesday, July 17: Healthy Habits at Albert-Oakland Park, Wednesday, August 21: Be Prepared at Albert-Oakland, and Wednesday, September 18: Creative Kids at Albert Oakland Park. The events start at 6 and will end at 8 pm. Set up stars at 5 pm. C.O. Scheffer will be sending out sign up Genies for this event please sign up to help.
Mary Dewey also has our annual Bike Safety Rodeo set for Saturday, April 20 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Karis Church parking lot. C.O. Scheffer will be sending out sign up Genies for this event please sign up to help.
