Birthday/Anniversary: Tony’s Daughter birthday is September 27th and she will be 9, Charlie Langreder birthday was Sept. 9th and he is 83 years young.
Rick gave us all the update on Red Leighton. He told his wife on Thursday evening last week that he to go to the hospital. That is not like him because, always on the move. He went in Thursday evening to VA hospital and hope to come out Monday. Let’s prayer for him and his wife during this time. Please send him card wish him a speedy recovery. His address is

Bike Safety Rodeo was on this past Saturday, September 24th. I would like to Thank James Murphy, Carl Scott and Jerry Sullvian for coming out and helping with the Bike Safety Rodeo. We only had 4 kids came out.

1st qtr. East Missouri Optimist District meeting will on October 28 through Saturday, October 29 in Columbia, Missouri at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel of AC Exist. Please let Tony know if you want to go to the conference. It was a great conference learned a lot about leadership. It will be great to see everyone there since here in Columbia and not much traveling or hotel room. We are in charged of the food for the hospitalize room on Friday night. Deb will need help with making bowls for the conference table decoration that will also me auction off at the end of the conference for fundraiser for Children Cancer. We also doing a peanut butter drive during the conference. Please start bring in your jars of Peanut butters.
Family Fun Fest will this Wednesday, September 21th at Albert Memorial Oakland Park from 6 to 8 pm the last one of the year. I like to Thank Carl Scott for working at the Family Fun Fest this year.
Jim Murphy talked about the Tree lot. On Saturday, October 8 there will the day we will place all the tree stands where they need to go and get the drills out to make sure they are working correctly. This will begin at 8:30 AM and will only take an hour if we have enough people.
Carl Scott let us know about the Senior Citizen garage sale that will take place this Friday and Saturday. Also, about the Hoot Nanny event that will take place with Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture. This is their big fundraiser of the year.
Deb Swanegan talked about the JIO Club. We are talking to Douglass High School on Monday about starting a JIO club there for their students.
Tony said “We made Honor club this year. Way to go club.”
Tony also talk to be about how dues will be going up $15.00 this year. So, dues will be $97.00 and Lifetime members will be $55.00.
Guest Speakers: Reng Winter: Hospice & Palliative Care end of Life. She also worked at the VA for the past 40 year. Attach is her power point.
