Meeting began at 12:01 pm

Members attend in person President Tony Pariso, Jerry Sullivan, Red Leighton, Rick McKernan, Larry Fick, Mike Hackett, Carl Scott, C.O. Scheffer, Ken Oster, Steve Klein and Mary Dewey. Special Guest Ernie Wren, Drew and Tonia Turner CARE Program and Tony’s kids Dominick and Carmelina

Larry Fick said “He was bagging Cinnamon Toast Crunch today at the Food Bank.”

Please sign up for the next Family Fun Fest at Albert-Oakland Park on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm.

August Board meeting set for Thursday, August 18 at 6:00 pm at the Club house. There is No funding request at this time.

Hallsville Optimist Club is having a fish fry on Saturday, August 20th at 5:00 pm to 7:00

Bike Safety Rodeo will be at the Northeast Regional Park (old fairground) inside on Saturday, September 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.

Reminder the 4th qtr. East Missouri Optimist District meeting will on Friday, August 26 through Sunday, August 28 in St. Louis. Please let Tony know if you want to go to the conference.

Tony Pariso  talked about the Wednesday, August 31 Koeze Nut Kick off dinner at the Clubhouse at 6:00 pm. Make sure everyone comes to hear Red Leighton speak about selling Koeze Nuts and gift cards.

We will be hosting a School Supplies Drive this month until August 19, 2022. Kelly Schilling will be the chair person for this event. Please bring the school supplies to the clubhouse on Monday when you come to the club meetings.

JIO Deb Swanegan and Mary Dewey will be getting together with the West Middle School principal about starting a chapter there at West.

Rick McKerman gave awards out to the members who helped with this Soap box Derby.

Rick Mckerman also talked about the August 9 Civic Club Meeting they had here at the Club house. The following clubs were here and talked about their upcoming project on September 10th from 9 to 11 cleaning up COSMO Park. The clubs were other Optimist Clubs in Columbia, COSOM Club, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club. After we are done cleaning up the park will we come back to the club house for ice cream.
