Members attend in person President Tony Parisio, Red Leighton, Ken Oster, Rick McKernan, Jerry Sullivan, Deb Swanegan, Ed Musterman, Carl Scott, Mary Dewey, Jake Jolly, Nadia Ryakmayatallov, Pat Brown, and Mike Hackett. Special Guest was Tony’s daughter Carmelina who finish 5th place in the stock division of the Soap Box Derby and our speaker December Harmon from the Columbia Citizens Police Review Board

Second reading of the 2022-2023 officers for Downtown Optimist Club:

President: Jerry Sullivan

Vice-President: Nadia Ryakmayatallov

Secretary: Phyllis Nichols

OI Foundation: Mary Dewey

Count was 13 yes/ 0 NA

Board Meeting on Thursday, June 16th with three funding request. We funded them

Columbia College – Girls Who Game – Regan Ubinas – $1000

Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture – Billy Polansky – $2000

Access Arts – Lisa Franco – $2000

Voted on Daniel Abram as a new board member

Jerry Sullivan   $800 for a new refrigerators for the clubhouse that will delivered this Wednesday.

Deb Swanegan talked starting a Junior Optimist Club. We will have meeting with International Junior Optimist leader by zoom after June 1.  Mary Deb and Tony will be at this zoom meeting.

We had a great zoom meeting with Donna. We will get started on forming a JIO

Please sign up for the upcoming Family Fun Fest that will be at COSMO Park from 6 to 8 pm. Will have only 1 shifts until 2 shifts. The shift will be from 5 to 8 pm. This will take place on Wednesday, July 20th with a Healthy Habits Theme.

Jake Jolly will have a sign out this week for the Show Me State Games, which will be on Sunday, July 24th and 31th. Please look for it. Jake passed out the Show Me State Games Volunteer form during the meeting for everyone to fill out if they want to volunteer.

We also looking for speakers if anyone has an idea for a speaker please let Ed Musterman or Rick McKernan know.

International Optimist Conversion will start on Wednesday, June 29th and end on Saturday, July 3 in Reno, NV. Jerry Sullivan and Mary Dewey will be attending.

Steve Winter has invited us all to his Garden Party on Friday, June 24th. See the attachment flyer.

Hallsville Optimist Club is having a fish fry on Saturday, August 20th at 6:00 pm.

COMO Breakfast Club past President said, “They will be having a golf tournament and wanted to know if our club would like to play?” We have the members who want to play more information to come when we get more information.
