Winter, and Zoom: Scott Stager. Our Guest were Lexi Linsenman, our speaker Lynella Phillip
and her mom

Birthday/Anniversary: Mary Dewey 52th birthday will be on Sunday May 29th
Paying the Pig: Mary Dewey paid $.50 for her birthday
First reading of the 2022-2023 officers for Downtown Optimist Club:
President: Jerry Sullivan

May 18 th  from 5 to 8 with 2 shifts, which are 5 to 6:30 and 6:30 to 8:00 pm is Family Fun Fest
at COSMO Park with a theme of “Bee Kind to Your Mind”. We will have an information booth
there. Mary Dewey would like to Thank everyone who came out and helped with this event.
Please make sure to sign up for the Family Fun Fest on Wednesday, June 15.
May 19 th Board funded Fun City Youth Academy for $500.00. The money will be for 6 Robic
Set for the summer, summer swimming, and busing. Then Bonnie took for John Jones on the
board after she gave here talk about funding.
May 21th is the 4-H BBQ at the Boone County Fairgrounds from 4 to 7 pm. Cost is $12.00
ahead of time and at the door will be $15.00. Attached is the flyer.
May 28 th  from 10 to 5 pm there is NOW get together for ZONE 1, 2 and 3 at the Sunrise
Optimist Club. There will brats, hamburger and drinks provided and side dishes will come club

member in each zone. Cost is $10.00 for the food and donation to play in the cornhole
tournament. Our zone is support to be bringing desserts to this party. Attach the flyer
Reminder Rick is looking for drives for Sunday, June 12 for the Soap Box Derby. Will bring a
sheet for sign up to drive the kids back up the hill with their cars. Rick passed out the sign-up
sheet for the drives to sign up for 2 hours shift. Mizzou swim team will be helping this year
again at the end of the hill to load the cars onto the trailer.
There will be 2 high school scholarship giving out each high schools in Columbia. They are
Battle winners were Tasia Davis, and Hope Wolfmier, Hickman winners were Hang Nguyen
and Ellianna Leigh, Rock Bridge winners were Aparna Siveraman and Christina Maltsberger,
and Douglass High School winners were Amari Clifton and Mukamsoni.
Deb Swanegan talked starting a Junior Optimist Club. We will have meeting with International
Junior Optimist leader by zoom after June 1. Rick, Mary Deb and Tony will be at this zoom
